Lailaa Cajee

Lailaa Cajee graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 2009. It was in her internship year that she was exposed to Oncology drugs and the preparation thereof. After completion of her Community Service she joined Sandton Oncology to pursue her career and love for Oncology. She participated in numerous clinical trials and was exposed to various facets of Oncology. In 2015 she joined Ruff & Partners where she currently heads up one of the largest private Outpatient Oncology units’ based at the Donald Gordon Medical Centre. Her experience in oncology spans over a decade and includes work on clinical trials, risk management programs, disease management programs, feasibility studies, training and education. In 2016/2017 she was afforded the opportunity to study abroad and is one of the very few South Africans to have received Advanced ESO-ESOP Oncology Certification by the European Society of Oncology Pharmacists. She is the co-developer of the first official and recognized Oncology short course in South Africa, in partnership with WITS University. Current organization memberships include The Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA), The European Society of Oncology Pharmacist (ESOP) and The International Society of Oncology Practitioners (ISOPP).
